Jerusalem- The Old City

Today is only Day 2 of our Shorashim Tufts Hillel Birthright -Taglit trip, but I’ve already started to learn about the vast history, traditions and culture that Judaism and Israel have to offer. Today, we walked around Yemin Moshe (the first neighbourhood outside the Old City Walls). We went on a hike in Sataf and we walked around the Old City. What has stood out to me the most so far this trip was the visit to the Western Wall. It was unbelievable to see how many people pray at the wall each day. It really made me realize the extent of the Jewish religion, and how important it is to the Jewish people. In addition, from the roofs of Jerusalem, we could see the extent of this enormous city, which was breath taking. Currently, we are in Kibbutz Chukuk in northern Israel, and I can’t wait to see what the next nine days have to offer!
